The First Shot of the War
This photo was taken by a Japanese photo airplane. It was recovered from the trash at the Yokasuka Naval Air Station in Japan at the end of the war. It depicts the first explosion along Battleship Row. Note the airplane just to the right of the plume, in a steep bank, turning away.
